Industry Women for 2020 - Narelle Warren, Brushwood Fencing

Narelle is the Managing Director of a highly successful business.

Even though she is no longer on site on the tools, her work ethic is always paramount continuing to work 12 and 14 hour days with huge self-sacrifice.

Over the years, Narelle has been an inspiring role model for other young women, encouraging them to learn a trade (should they so desire).

Narelle spoke on this topic several times during the course of her daughter's schooling at both primary and high school.

Narelle was sought after on several occasions by the careers advisor.

Narelle also has the ability to resolve challenges. This was abundant when Narelle first started doing Brushwood Fencing, and she couldn't understand why certain aspects of the industry were doing things in a particular way.

Narelle was often heard saying to work colleagues who were training her at the time in the art of hand thatching fences; "We should be doing it this way: it's much more effective and efficient".

Her desire to be more productive and efficient lead to the birth of Brushwood Fencing Australia Pty Ltd.

Ignoring her now disgruntled tutors of old school, Narelle pushed forward in changing the format of employment, procedures, customer service and so on specific to the 'Brushwood' Fencing Industry
