Ideal Gate Automation gave Australian Fencing Awards some key information on their Sydney international dragway project.

Challenges involved in the project

• Bi sliding entry set.
• 1x 13m cantilever gate suspended over a dam, on 3.5 degrees slope, unstable footing requiring piers.

   

• 1x 13m cantilever gate on the same 3.5degree slope, driving into the air cast over and next to a critical gas main.
• Designed for maximum opening with two unavoidable restraints on both sides: the far side Dam bank and the boundary with Sydney Motorsport park / access easement.

Products used on the project

• Beninca Bison 2.5t.

   

• Custom chain drive set adapters in house.

   

• Double radial dampening devices in custom post mounted housing made in house.

   

• 9 m3 of concrete footings

   

• Actual gate weights combined of 2700kg of steel.

Outcome of the project

• 2 beautiful looking gates that pushed the boundaries of cantilever engineering. Gates work flawlessly and operations are underway.
